Ambassador of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran Artashes Tumanyan on Wednesday had a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mehdi Safari, the Embassy of Armenia in Iran reports.

Tumanyan congratulated Safari on being appointed to the position and voiced hope that the governments of both countries will take all the necessary steps for further development of the Armenia-Iran economic relations.

Attaching importance to the deepening of economic cooperation, Deputy Foreign Minister Safari expressed his willingness to support the implementation of the current economic programs.

The interlocutors also touched upon the organizing of activities for increase of effectiveness of cooperation within the scope of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as strengthening of the North-South transport corridor.
