I was deeply saddened by the news about the death of renowned Armenian diplomat and state figure, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia Vigen Chitechyan. This is stated in the condolence message of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Davit Babayan.

“Vigen Chitechyan made great contributions for the strengthening of Armenia’s independence, as well as the shaping and functioning of foreign policy. By holding positions in the public administration system and representing Armenia in different countries, he always served the homeland unconditionally.

Vigen Chitechyan loved Artsakh and always helped present and protect the interests of Artsakh abroad, and several programs were carried out in Artsakh with his active participation.

On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Artsakh and myself, I express condolences and support to the family and relatives of Vigen Chitechyan.”
