Residents of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) harvest their crops with the help of Russian peacekeepers. During a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, deputy of the “Justice” faction of the National Assembly of Artsakh Metakse Hakobyan said the Azerbaijanis are posing threats to peaceful civilians during farming.

“Even in the presence of Russian peacekeepers, the Azerbaijanis scream and shout, and this makes the Russian peacekeepers tell the residents to stop harvesting the crops for the day since the peacekeepers also avoid conflicts and provocations. Artsakh isn’t doing anything at all and has left it up to the Russian side. It is a truly difficult situation, but we deputies can’t do anything. The maximum we can do is speak out about this and be at war against these authorities all the time,” she said.

There were reports that the Azerbaijanis had threatened Armenians collecting grapes in the vineyards of Askeran and hadn’t let them harvest the crops. As a warning, they had stolen the car of one of the villagers of Khramort village and then returned it, obstructing the harvest.

Deputy Metakse Hakobyan confirmed these cases, noting that the villagers of Artsakh are truly in a difficult situation.

A civilian was killed Saturday in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) by a sniper of the Azerbaijani army. Hunan Tadevosyan, spokesman of the Artsakh State Service of Emergency Situations, told about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He noted that at 1:15pm, the Martakert regional police department reported that Aram Tepnants (born in 1966) a resident of Martakert town, was fatally wounded at the pomegranate orchard near the town—and by a sniper shot by the Azerbaijani armed forces, Tadevosyan said. A criminal case has been launched.
