YEREVAN. – Conflicts should be resolved through dialogue, not by force. This was stated by the visiting Minister of External Affairs of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, at Wednesday’s joint news conference in Yerevan with his Armenian colleague.

The Indian official noted that Armenia went through a difficult period last year, and on behalf of the government and people of India extended deep condolences to the Armenian people, especially those who have lost relatives in the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war last fall.

Jaishankar stressed that India's position is consistent, it is in favor of a peaceful settlement through diplomacy and within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. India has always been in favor of such an approach, the minister reminded.

The Indian FM added that they believe that the issues should be resolved through dialogue, not by force, they oppose violence, support the peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, this is the most viable way to move forward, and he told this to the Armenian FM during their talk.
