Presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan intend to mark the first anniversary of the occupation of the Armenian city of Shushi with the opening of an airport in Varanda (Fizuli) region.

The Turkish Haberturk reports that the opening ceremony is set to take place on November 8.

The 3,000-meter long and 60-meter wide runway has already been exploited at the airport. It is equipped with systems for landings and navigation devices, lighting, primary and secondary radar systems that ensure the safety of flights in accordance with all the requirements of the ICAO. This will allow for receiving all types of planes at the airport, the source reports.
