President of Latvia Egils Levits took an express COVID-19 test before his meeting with Estonia’s new President Alar Karis and tested positive, LSM.lv radio and television portal reports.
“During the official visit today, Karis will be hosted by President of the Seym Inara Murniece. Levits got tested after his return from Sweden on the evening of October 13. The office reported that he will take a PCR test today,” the press release reads.
The press release also states that Levits personally called his Estonian counterpart on the phone, explained the situation and asked to postpone the meeting, and Karis agreed to meet with the President of the Seym.
