An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 on Saturday occurred off the coast of the southern Kuril Islands, RIA Novosti.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred at 13.02 (05.13 Moscow time) at coordinates 45.5 N. 149.6 e.d. at a depth of 162 kilometers, the report said.

The epicenter was located 115 kilometers east of the village of Reidovo on Iturup.
