The Special Investigation Service of Armenia has accepted for proceedings the criminal case of giving and receiving electoral bribe before the local self-government elections in Goris city, as reported the Special Investigation Service.

The criminal case regards Gagik Arushanyan, who is the father of Mayor of Goris Arush Arushanyan and who doesn’t have any status under the case for the time being.

On October 17, Arushanyan’s attorney Armen Melkonyan declared that the Department for Fight against Organized Crime of the Police of Armenia has launched a criminal case under which Arush Arushanyan’s father, Gagik Arushanyan distributed electoral bribe on October 16. Based on this, the court permitted a search in the headquarters on election day.
