The Mount Paylasar section of Syunik Province of Armenia is under Azerbaijani control. This is what Deputy Mayor of Kapan for the Military Mesrop Arzumanyan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“I have been afar for two days and don’t have information about the current situation. I only reported that the road is closed. Movement was allowed after an agreement until a new road is built,” he said, adding that the peak is of strategic significance for Kapan, as well as the nearby Agarak, Khdrants and Ditsmayr villages.
“We came down from the mountain, there was no movement of positions, and only the road was closed. There won’t be a chance to move through that section for a long time. This is all we know,” Arzumanyan said.
