A Magnitude 6.5 earthquake hit northeast Taiwan on Sunday, TASS reports.

The shocks were felt in several regions of Taiwan, including Taipei. The epicenter was at a distance of 22.7 km south from Ilan, and the hotbed was at a depth of 66.8 km.

There are no reports about deaths and destructions.

The eastern section of Taiwan is considered one of the more dangerous zones in terms of earthquakes in Asia.
