YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: On October 24-25, the Armenian community of the US had organized an Armenian food and art festival. The goal was to introduce and popularize Armenian cuisine, arts and crafts to the American public.

Hundreds of participants from the Armenian community, hundreds of Americans interested in Armenia and its culture attended the open-air event. However, according to our sources, [Armenia’s new] Ambassador [to US] Lilit Makunts did not attend the event, which offended the organizers of the event, as it is very difficult to organize events of such level in the [local Armenian] community.

But the ambassador, who should have been the first to attend—if not organized—such a large-scale event, did not find time to be present at least, whereas it took place only 20 minutes away from the [Armenian] embassy [in Washington D.C.].
