Istanbul-Armenian advocate Berk Acar has successfully passed the exams to become a kaymakam (sub-governor) and will be appointed to a district in the coming period, according to Agos newspaper.

Berk Acar graduated from the Sahagian Nounian Armenian School and Louys School in Istanbul. In 2020, he graduated from the Faculty of Law at the Istanbul Bilgi University.

Acar will soon become the first Armenian kaymakam in the history of the Republic of Turkey.
