The government managed to help the economy recover after last year’s crisis, and now we are trying to grow quickly. This is what Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan said during Digitec Summit 2021 today.

According to him, what happened with regard to the coronavirus pandemic last year is unprecedented in the history of mankind since countries froze economic relations, even though a country’s economy remains active even during a war.

“The coronavirus became another challenge that Armenia faced. We are living in difficult times, but such events help us find ourselves. There is a special place for high technology in Armenia, and these events are aimed at promoting development of the sector. The government is trying to create infrastructures so that Armenia’s advancement is conditioned by the development of the private sector. Over the past few years, Armenia has succeeded in enhancing the IT sector. Now we want to take the next step for development of the whole sector. Armenia doesn’t have resources. People are the resources, and it is necessary to use them,” the minister said.
