An employee of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), and an officer of the State Border Service (SBS) were injured in an anti-tank mine explosion Friday at the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, Sputnik Azerbaijan reported.

At around 3pm, the prosecutor's office of Azerbaijan received information that ANAMA employee Vagif Babayev (born in 1972) and SBS employee Renat Aghababayev (born in 1999) had stepped on an anti-tank mine.

As a result of the ensuing explosion, they had sustained injuries of various severities, and Babayev was in severe condition.

The prosecutor's office inspected the scene of the incident.

A forensic medical examination has been ordered.

An investigation is underway.
