The staff of the US Consulate General in Almaty, Kazakhstan, have not left the city yet, the diplomatic mission informed Interfax on Saturday.

They do not have information about anyone leaving yet, said an employee of the diplomatic mission.

As per this source, the US embassy in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan is working as normal.

The status of "authorized departure" at the US Consulate General in Almaty will be reviewed no later than 30 days later.

The US attaches importance to its relations with Kazakhstan, and is following the situation with great concern, the Consulate General stated, adding that they call on the Kazakh authorities and people to find a peaceful and constructive solution to the situation in their country.
