The Russian foreign ministry has responded to the statement of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who, making a reference to history, had said that the Russians are in no hurry to leave when they are in someone else's house.

The response of the Russian foreign ministry was posted on its Telegram channel, Gazeta reported.

"If Antony Blinken loves history lessons so much, let him consider the following: When Americans come to your house, it is difficult to stay alive, not be robbed or raped," the message reads.

The diplomats have called Blinken's statement dull, noting that such jokes are inappropriate when it comes to tragic events.

The foreign ministry stressed that sending Russian troops to Kazakhstan is "the absolutely legitimate response of the CSTO to the call of the Kazakh leadership to provide assistance in ensuring security."
