During their telephone conversation, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev briefed Russian President Vladimir Putin in detail on the situation in Kazakhstan, according to a Kremlin press release.

Tokayev told the Russian leader that the situation in Kazakhstan "is developing towards stabilization."

Also, he thanked his Russian interlocutor for his assistance through the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

In addition, Tokayev proposed Putin to hold a videoconference of the leaders of the CSTO Collective Security Council to discuss the situation in Kazakhstan.

The Russia President supported this idea of his Kazakh counterpart.

Furthermore, the leaders of the two countries agreed to stay in constant touch.
