YEREVAN. – A special session of the OSCE Permanent Council was held Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

During the exchange of views, the head of the Armenian mission to the OSCE, Ambassador Armen Papikyan, delivered a speech in which he reflected on the ongoing provocations and military clashes by Azerbaijan on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the line of contact with Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)—and which have resulted in casualties.

Ambassador Papikyan called on the OSCE Chairmanship and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries to take effective measures to stop these provocations of Azerbaijan and to resume the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.

Also, the head of the Armenian mission to the OSCE called on the Polish OSCE Chairmanship to focus on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and expressed hope that the Polish chairmanship, together with other international partners, would use this mechanism to send a clear and unequivocal message to Azerbaijan that the continued use of force cannot be tolerated and remain without consequences.

Azerbaijan must immediately stop its provocations, withdraw its forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia, stop the escalation of tension—both on the Armenian border and on the line of contact with Artsakh—, and fulfill its obligations, Armen Papikyan stressed.
