I did not see the nervous reaction of Baku and Ankara—from officials. The statement came from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov when asked whether the recent escalation of tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was linked to the nervous reaction of Azerbaijan and Turkey to the deployment of CSTO peacekeepers—including Armenians—in Kazakhstan.

"An incomprehensible statement, to put it mildly, was made in Ankara by one of President Erdogan's advisers, who simply condemned Kazakhstan's actions to call for the CSTO. And now we have asked our Turkish colleagues for an explanation of what that means. But the [Turkish] officials, as well as the officials in Azerbaijan, did not make any negative comments [in this regard]," Lavrov said.
