The world is far from the goal of vaccinating 70% of the world's population against the coronavirus by mid-2022, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, RIA Novosti reported.
Guterres said that Omicron is a mournful reminder that stopping the spread anywhere should be at the top of the agenda.
Last fall, the WHO unveiled a strategy to vaccinate 40% of people in all countries by the end of 2021 and 70% by the middle of that.
