The French Institute of Armenia has been established. Former French Ambassador to Armenia, Jonathan Lacote, wrote about this on Facebook.

"I am very happy that during my four years in Armenia I designed, developed, and implemented with the Aznavour Foundation the program of establishing a French institute in Yerevan.

This institute will enable uniting all those programs that have a contribution to the cultural relations between the two countries, which will offer a platform for French culture and language in Armenia.

We owe this institution to all the Armenians who love France, to the teachers who teach our language, to the youth who are interested in our culture, to all those who see themselves in our values.

The establishment of such an institution 30 years after the establishment of diplomatic relations [between France and Armenia] fills the gap of the French system in Armenia, and corresponds to the sincere expectations of the Armenian society," Ambassador Lacote added.
