Turkey has signed the first export contract for the supply of the Bayraktar Akinci combat drones, whose engines will be delivered to Ukraine, Baykar Makina company CEO Haluk Bayraktar said on Sunday, TASS reported.

"The delivery under the contract is scheduled for 2023," he added, Anadolu Agency reported.

The CEO of Baykar Makina, however, did not say with which country the aforesaid contract was signed.

Also, Haluk Bayraktar announced high demand for the Bayraktar TB-2 drones.

"Agreements have been signed with 16 countries to acquire them," he added.

On November 12 last year, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba had announced that two companies in the country had signed contracts to supply engines to Turkish drones.
