In 2021, a drone laboratory was opened at the Monte Melkonian college, and in 2022 we plan to open nine new drone laboratories in Armenia and Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]. Raffi Kassarjian, now former Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE) of Armenia, stated this at Tuesday’s press conference summing up the 2021 activities of UATE.

"After the [Nagorno-Karabakh] war [in the fall of 2020], we had noted that we were going to resume our ‘Army IT’ program where we had 138 participants. Eighty-five of them have already completed the IT-related education programs. The youth who took part in the 44-day Artsakh war mainly took part [in them]," Kassarjian added.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that Hayk Chobanyan, former governor of Tavush Province and ex-Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, has been appointed Executive Director of the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises.
