The South Korean Air Force has completed the deployment of 40 US fifth-generation F-35A fighter jets, KBS reports, citing military sources.
Earlier this week, the last four F-35As arrived at an airfield in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do province.
Initially, the deployment of 40 aircraft was supposed to be completed by last year, but it was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The F-35A will bolster Korea's combat readiness, according to an Air Force spokesman. The F-35A has a top speed of Mach 1.6 and a range of 1,093 km.
Earlier, the Korean Air Force suspended all F-35A flights because one of them made an emergency landing due to avionics issues.
