Presidential elections in Belarus can be canceled only in case of war, otherwise, they will be held within the time limit prescribed by law, the current head of state Alexander Lukashenko said, BelTA reported.
According to the politician, the question of new elections will depend on the situation and the situation in foreign countries.
However, he stressed that in all other cases, he can leave the office at any time. He called the "quiet life of the people" and their development the main condition for his resignation.
The Belarusian leader added that he considers two consecutive terms "enough" for the president.
