High-Tech Industry Minister Vahagn Khachaturyan has been nominated for the post of President by 65 MPs of the majority “Civil Contract” Faction in parliament, and this gives some confidence that he has not only been nominated, but will also be elected to the Office of President of Armenia. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated about this at Thursday's Cabinet meeting of the government.

"This gives confidence that the election of the [new] President of Armenia will take place—at least in the second round," Pashinyan added.

Khachaturyan, in turn thanked for the trust, and promised to complete some of the programs of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry during this period.
