The matter of joining the Union State is not on Armenia's agenda. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, stated this at a press briefing Thursday.

Grigoryan said this when asked whether the prospect of joining the Union State—comprising Russia and Belarus—was being discussed by Armenia, and what his position is on the matter.

"And since there is not [such agenda for Armenia], my position is the following: Armenia is a sovereign, democratic state—and it should remain so," Grigoryan added.
