In several cities of Turkey, members of various unions have staged protests against the rise in electricity and other prices.

According to the Turkish Pirha website, the protesters in Mersin demonstratively burned the utility bills receipts.

The union members demanded that the authorities cancel the price hikes because the workers are not able to keep up with the price increases.

Similar protests were carried out in the Turkish city of Izmir.
