Indian authorities have abolished the mandatory seven-day quarantine on arrival in the country for foreign tourists from Monday, a government decree reports.

Now, tourists entering the popular beach country for seven days are required to engage in self-monitoring - to go to quarantine in the case of suspicious symptoms. In addition, the requirement to take a repeat PCR test on the eighth day of stay in India will be abolished.

According to the decree, citizens of 82 states are freed from PCR testing if they have a certificate of vaccination but Russia is not included in the list.

It is reported that before arriving in India, tourists should register on the Air Suvidha portal and upload the necessary medical documents in the application form. All travelers are also advised to install the Aarogya Setu app.
