Negotiations on the nuclear deal in Vienna have not reached an impasse and the sides are discussing key issues, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said.

His remarks came during a press conference on Monday.

"There is no stalemate in Vienna. Negotiations will continue as before. Talks between the delegations continue," he said.

"We have started serious work with all countries in the region and outside the region, regardless of what is happening in Vienna,"Khatibzadeh said. Iran has made its political decisions for many years and has remained in JCPOA and we are waiting for the response of Iran's initiatives from the Western parties," he added.

On Sunday, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, wrote on Twitter that the work of reaching an agreement in Vienna was becoming more difficult.
