Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed a wish to hold phone talks with Vladimir Putin to find out his approach to the idea of a trilateral meeting between the presidents of Russia, Ukraine and Turkey, CNN Turk reported Wednesday.

His remarks came while speaking to reporters on his return from the United Arab Emirates.

He said that Zelensky, during their meeting had expressed a positive attitude toward a trilateral meeting in the Putin-Zelensky-Erdogan format.

Turkish leader offered to meet in Istanbul or Ankara.
