European countries must should relying on Russian energy, especially with the ongoing war in Ukraine, to ensure that supplies are widely available, said US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, CNN reported.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Tallinn with Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Blinken said that at the moment there is a significant, not only opportunity, but also the need to finally get rid of the dependence of many European countries on Russian energy.

Kallas called for the complete exclusion of Russia and Belarus from the SWIFT network and restrict its access to cryptocurrencies. According to her, countries should focus on complete isolation of Russia from the free world.

The deteriorating security situation requires rapid changes in European security, she noted, adding that the world must be prepared for the worst that is yet to come. Kallas also urged NATO to work on an updated defense strategy in our region.
