U.S. lawmakers have reached an agreement on federal government funding for fiscal year 2022 worth $1.5 trillion, including $13.6 billion for security and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine and $15.6 billion for the fight against COVID, U.S. Congressional leaders have said.

House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro said the plan includes $730 billion in non-defense funding and $782 billion in defense funding.

This bipartisan agreement will help us address many of the major challenges we face at home and abroad, from COVID-19 to the brutal and immoral attack on Ukraine to the need to cut costs for hard-working American families, said U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

The comprehensive spending plan will increase funding for domestic priorities, including money for infrastructure, they said. It also includes new means to protect US infrastructure from cyberattacks from Russia and other intruders.
