Inflation in Armenia will be around 5.5% in 2022. Minister of finance Tigran Khachatryan told about this to reporters in the National Assembly Monday.

"Up to 1.5% deviation is possible. The Central Bank stated that the performance indicators remain viable. Despite the temporary difficulties that exist today in the region and in the world, especially due to possible changes in food and energy prices, they will be manageable, and at the end of the year we will have inflation actually registered within the law," the minister said.

He stressed that what happened in the global food markets in 2021 can be expected to be due to the coronavirus and, as a result, because of certain rearrangements of value chains around the world.

"What is happening now is a little different, a little bit related to regional uncertainties, to the regularity of our main suppliers. I am almost sure that if we are going to give assessments in the medium term—that is, if we go 3 to 5 months ago and then look back—, we will see that many of these issues have self-regulated," said the finance minister of Armenia.
