The residents of Tsovagyugh and Semyonovka villages of Armenia have closed off the Yerevan-Sevan motorway on both sides, and they demand to meet with Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan.

There are police as well in the area.

One of these residents told Armenian News-NEWS.am that this action of theirs is peaceful.

"We demand that the minister come and give a solution to our problem. We had expressed—with the elections—against the [community] enlargement, and we were waiting for them to respond to us, they would solve our problem, but as we saw, it was not solved. Now the residents have decided to close off the road so that the issue can be resolved," he said.

The residents of these two villages are against community enlargement, and therefore they did not vote in the December 5 local elections of the enlarged community of Sevan.

The residents were waiting for a decision by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure that will determine the fate of their two villages.

The ministry, however, had told Armenian News-NEWS.am that no alternative solution was being discussed for these two communities.
