Azerbaijan plans to "take action" against unwanted websites that dare to publicize opinions that differ from the official ones.
"Appropriate measures may be taken on the activities of websites that disseminate information contrary to the interests and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," Electronic Security Service (ESS) of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport said in response to a question of APA news agency on the possibility of taking steps regarding the restrictions imposed on some Azerbaijani websites in Russia, APA reported.
It was noted that the issue of restricting the activities of any website inside and outside the country is regulated by Azerbaijani legislation.
"Thus, if these resources disseminate information that contradicts the interests of the country, territorial integrity and does not comply with the law, appropriate measures can be taken on the activity of these sites."
