German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is forced to cancel a visit to Poland scheduled for Tuesday, March 29, due to a positive COVID-19 test result.

The President of Germany is very sorry about the cancellation of his trip to Poland, because it was important for him.

During the visit, Steinmeier was expected to meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda, and also in Krakow to take part in a memorial service for the Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki, who died in March 2020. In addition, the German president planned to visit a reception center for refugees from Ukraine, where he also wanted to bring medicines as humanitarian aid.

On March 22, it became known that 66-year-old Steinmeier and his wife had contracted the coronavirus. Express test and PCR test showed a positive result. The President and his wife immediately went into home quarantine. The disease proceeds in a mild form.
