The Duma will react to the declaration of deputy from the "A Just Russia — For Truth " Mikhail Delyagin wanted by Azerbaijan, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Alexei Chepa told RIA Novosti.

"This is a nervous, wrong action. We will respond to such statements, we will try now to take certain steps to reassure our colleagues. I think this is the attitude of our Azerbaijani partners toward criticism," Chepa said.

Earlier, the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan reported on the initiation of a criminal case against Delyagin for calling for the destruction of the country's energy infrastructure and oil industry, it was also decided to put him on the international wanted list through Interpol.

On Monday, during the "60 Minutes" political talk show on "Russia 1" and "Channel One," Mikhail Delyagin called Turkey a satellite of the United States and Azerbaijan a "proxy of Turkey," a real threat and called for harsh punishment against Azerbaijan. "Dependent on the Russian economy, Azerbaijani business can explode in one day. Azerbaijan's oil industry is very territorially localized and can cease to exist within 15 minutes. Because the "proxy" does not understand otherwise. An independent state would understand, but a "proxy" would not. The "proxy" does not have the function of freely understanding it. In today's world, it is no longer possible to speak differently," Mikhail Delyagin noted.

Moscow, represented by the Kremlin and the Foreign Ministry, said that Delyagin's comments do not reflect Russia's official position.

Delyagin himself apologized to people of all nationalities who were suddenly frightened by his words and stressed that his apology does not apply to people who misunderstood him because they only use foul language from the Russian language.

Delyagin also noted that the statement and the telegram survey were not addressed to the Azerbaijani people and the state as a whole, but to some part of the Azerbaijani bureaucracy, which may have decided that in the situation when Russian forces were diverted to a military special operation, it was possible not to fulfill the agreements reached with Russia.
