Nver Kirakosyan and Artur Avagyan, two participants of the 44-day Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war in the fall of 2020 who on Sunday announced a hunger strike, came to Freedom Square in downtown Yerevan Monday morning.

In this regard, Kirakosyan had written the following, in particular, on Facebook:

"Artur Avagyan and I (…) are announcing an indefinite hunger strike, and we will be at Freedom Square as of 09:00 in the morning.

The purpose of the hunger strike is to draw the attention of the representatives of our generation to the situation around Artsakh, and to direct the implementation of specific practical steps."

To note, Artur Vanetsyan, the leader of the "With Honor" Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, had announced the start of protests—with no term or end—at Freedom Square.
