While rendering assistance to Yerevan and Baku in preparation of a peace agreement, the Russian side focuses on proposals of basic principles for the establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"Let me remind, they were prepared in Baku and received a constructive response from Yerevan. We believe that they are a good basis for the coordination of positions. There remain fundamental disagreements between Baku and Yerevan on the issue of status. We see our role in contributing to the rapprochement of the sides," Zakharova said.
