The level of economic activity in Armenia in January-April decreased by 9.4%, in January-March it amounted to 9.6%.

Socio-economic data for January-April 2022 suggests that the year will be full of economic turmoil.

The Armenian government plans to ensure economic growth at the level of 7% by the end of the year, however, this forecast is only for propaganda purposes, since the World Bank predicts economic growth at the level of 1.2%, the International Monetary Fund - 1.5%, the Asian Development Bank - 2 ,eight%. Even the Central Bank of Armenia predicts economic growth of only 1.6%.

From the point of view of sustainable and long-term development of the economy, the indicator of growth in the industrial sector, which slowed down from 3.1% to 2.6%, is alarming.

In 2022, consumer prices in Armenia increased by 7.4%, while food prices increased by 14.3%. This, in turn, led to a decrease in demand and import growth rates (to 39.1%). At the same time, the decline of Armenia's agricultural sector exacerbates inflationary trends.

It is noteworthy that according to official statistics, economic activity in April increased by 5.3% compared to March, while electricity production decreased by 13.9%.
