During the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Russia, a special place was given to measures to strengthen security, stability and peace in the South Caucasus, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is on a working visit to Armenia.

“We have a common opinion on the strict implementation of the agreement of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia of November 9, 2020, as well as of January 11 and November 26, 2021.

We are grateful for the high assessment of the stabilizing role of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in maintaining peace and security in the region and expressed satisfaction with the results of the meeting of the trilateral working group, held in Moscow on June 3, co-chaired by the vice-premiers of the three countries, which are dealing with the issues of unblocking all transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus.

The topics of the commission for the delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border with the advisory assistance of the Russian Federation were also touched upon. On our part, we reaffirmed our readiness to assist in the conclusion of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku and, in general, to solve the humanitarian problems that persist in this region,” Lavrov noted.
