The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Vahan Kerobyan, will meet Friday with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, and on Saturday—with the Minister of Economic Development of Russia, to resolve the difficulties in cargo transportation. Kerobyan told reporters about this after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia.

"There are two obstacles to export to Russia. The first is the Upper Lars checkpoint, where there are still unresolved issues, and the second is the uncertainty of the [Russian] ruble exchange rate. We work in both directions. Tomorrow we will meet with my Georgian colleague in Georgia, and on Saturday—with my Russian colleague, at Upper Lars. These meetings are aimed at eliminating the logistical difficulties of cargo transportation. We are doing a lot of work, I hope we will have noticeable results soon," Kerobyan said.

According to the minister, work is also being done to diversify export directions. According to him, Armenia is in such a state that it must be able to have a broad geographical scope.

"We have a huge transport plan at the ministry, and we try to make Armenia's logistical connection with the world increase sharply. This will enable our processing industry to become considerably more competitive," said the Armenian Minister of Economy.
