Three earthquakes struck off the southern Iranian island  Kish on Wednesday morning, shaking Dubai and other nearby areas of the Persian Gulf, Al Arabiya reported.

The US Geological Survey reported that there were two earthquakes of magnitude 4.7 followed by another one of magnitude 5.3 near the island, located near the strategic Strait of Hormuz (which connects the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea).
