YEREVAN. - A total of 8,977 boys and 7,661 girls were born in Armenia within 5 months in 2011, Head of Census and Demography Division, Armenian National Statistical Service told a press conference on Friday.

According to her, the top baby names in Armenia in 2011 are Narek and Mane.

Narek is the most popular boy name in Armenia, followed by David Gor, Erik, Artur, Tigran, Alen, Arman, Samvel, Alex.

Among the girls Mane, Milena, Elen, Ani, Mari, Anna, Mariam, Nare, Anahit and Meri are popular.
