United Left Forces candidate Gustavo Petro has won the second round of the presidential election in Colombia with 50.44 percent of the vote. This is evidenced by the data of the preliminary counting of all the votes.

According to the National Electoral Council, after counting the ballots, Gustavo Petro, the candidate of the Historic Pact socialist coalition, became the President-elect of Colombia, receiving more than 11.2 million—or 50.44 percent—valid votes.

In the second round, his opponent Rodolfo Hernandez—who received 47.31 percent of the votes—conceded defeat.
