Such events are a unique platform for us to meet with industry representatives and discuss industry issues, HTI Deputy Minister Davit Sahakyan said today.

His remarks came in a conversation with journalists within the framework of the Orion-2022 summit.

"Unfortunately, there is no more effective toolkit than these contacts. This is a unique platform to meet with them, discuss, identify issues in the field through panel discussions, and try to find solutions to those problems with industry representatives. This is a very effective tool. Using this platform, the government, our ministry has the opportunity to present its programs and plans, so that our programs are in line with the needs of the sector, in line with future brands," he said.

To the question of what the ministry is doing to make the work of the public administration system more effective through innovations, the deputy minister answered: "We currently have an idea-to-business program that grants startups, and idea-level startups, and market-level startups. We provide the grant, give the company training on how to use those resources effectively and achieve its goal. And when it has already entered the market, at that stage we "give" them to investors, funds (photo report).

The second thing we do is the courses. This year we have selected 4-5 spheres and are training specialists in those spheres to enliven them. In particular, we train specialists in artificial intelligence, taking into account that the need for such specialists is very high. There is also a great demand for blockchain and cyber security specialists. This year we have also introduced the direction of engineering. "People appreciate that the field is developing, the level of salaries is higher, and people are trying to study and work in that field."

Referring to the problem of lack of staff in the IT-sphere, the Deputy Minister said. "This is a situation that is typical of the whole world. There is a shortage of professionals all over the world. Here, our programs encourage companies to attract specialists, including from abroad, to train specialists and enter the market. We are trying to minimize that gap. "
