Turkey will not tolerate any illegal trade of Ukrainian grain or any other products from any country, including Russia, said Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at a joint press conference in Ankara with British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Anadolu agency reported.

Answering the journalists' question about the possibility of exporting stolen grain from Ukraine via Russian ports to various countries, including Turkey, he said that from time to time media report similar statements.

The Ukrainian side also informs Ankara on the issue. "We seriously consider and study every signal we receive. We also inform the Ukrainian side on this issue. In fact, monitoring is very simple. All you have to do is to download an application that costs 5-6 dollars. It allows you to track shipping, get information about the ports of departure of ships and their cargo. You do not need to be a government official to do this. Anyone can access the information. One just needs to download appropriate applications on his phone or computer to track air traffic or shipping," Cavusoglu said.

He noted that Ankara takes each request seriously. "Turkey examines information about the country of production, the port of departure. We check and confirm every time that the products are made in Russia. Turkey will not allow illegal trade of Ukrainian grain or any other products, by any country, including Russia. Turkey and its government agencies' decisive position on this issue is unchanged," the Minister said.

Liz Truss, in turn, noted that if grain is not taken out of Ukrainian ports, there will be a serious famine.

Truss pointed to the importance of providing a safe corridor for vessels carrying Ukrainian grain.

Cavusoglu said that Turkey considers and supports the U.N. plan to remove grain from Ukrainian ports.

He said Ankara is making efforts to resolve the food problem as soon as possible.

Cavusoglu noted that Turkey continues active negotiations on the issue with both Russia and Ukraine.
