Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan attended the regular session of CIS Defense Ministers' Council in Moscow on Friday.

The council discussed more than 20 issues on the agenda, including international military and political developments and emerging dangers and challenges to the security of CIS states, the Armenian Defense Ministry press service told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Participants of the meeting also discussed a number of issues related to the formation of the Joint Humanitarian Demining Engineering Unit, deepening cooperation in the field of military education and other issues.

A program for the council's activities for 2023 was also agreed.

All decisions of the council of the defense ministers of CIS member states as well as the joint statement on the 30th anniversary of the council of the defense ministers of CIS were signed.

Taking into consideration rich agenda of Armenian-Russian military cooperation and allied nature of the relations, additional agreement was reached to organize a meeting of Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and Russian Defense Minister, Army General Sergei Shoigu in Moscow in August.
