The G7 countries have promised to continue supporting Ukraine "as long as it takes".

"We will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support and stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes,” the G7 leaders said in a statement.

The leaders also said Ukraine will have to determine its future diplomatic path.

It was up to Ukraine to decide on a future peace settlement, free from external pressure or influence, they said, but they stood ready to support an international reconstruction plan, drawn up and implemented by Ukraine in coordination with partners.

The leaders said they will work together to help Ukraine defend itself after the war ends.

The G7 leaders said that for a viable post-war peace settlement, they stand ready together with interested countries and institutions and Ukraine to reach agreements on sustainable security commitments to help Ukraine defend itself, ensure its free and democratic future.
